There is no account to create, no newsletter to join and no tracker on the page. The short version: this site does not collect personal data about you.
What is stored on your device
Your preferences are kept in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They are never sent to the server and never leave the machine:
- your Light / Dark / System theme choice;
- the companies you have starred as favourites;
- filter settings — minimum company size, whether the filter bar is folded, and the like.
Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it. Local storage is not a cookie and is not transmitted with requests.
The site also installs a service worker so it can load offline. It caches the page, its stylesheets and its script. It never caches market data.
What the server records
The server keeps ordinary operational logs of requests it handles — the path requested, a timestamp, and the response status — for debugging and to apply rate limits. Logs are short-lived and are not used to build a profile of anyone, not combined with any other source, and not shared or sold.
No account, name, email address, postal address, payment detail or portfolio information is ever requested, and none is stored.
Third parties
Market data is fetched by the server, not by your browser, so loading the board does not put you in contact with any data provider. The server calls Finnhub for the earnings calendar, Yahoo Finance and Alpaca for quotes, charts and option chains, the public Reddit API for social chatter, and the Anthropic API to classify that chatter. Those requests carry no information about you — they are the server asking about a ticker.
Two places where a third party can see you:
- Outbound links. Following any link off this site — including an affiliate link — hands you to that company, under its privacy policy, not this one. An affiliate link will typically set a cookie on the destination site so the referral can be credited. That happens after you click, on their domain, and it is governed by their terms.
- Whoever hosts this site sees the network-level information every web server sees, such as your IP address, as a necessary part of delivering the page.
How affiliate links are used and labelled is set out on the Disclosures page.
Legal basis and your rights
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, the limited processing described above (serving the page, keeping it available, preventing abuse) rests on the operator's legitimate interests in running a working, secure website. No consent banner is shown because nothing is stored on your device that is not strictly necessary to provide the site you asked for, and no non-essential cookies are set.
You have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, and to have it corrected or erased. In practice this site holds none, so there is normally nothing to return or delete. Requests, and any complaint, can be sent to [email protected]. You may also complain to your national data-protection authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data from anyone.
